OSCon 2005 Day 0

Day 0 starts way to early… 4:44 AM actually since my youngest decided to wake me up at that time. I had to be at the airport round 6 anyway so figured I would just get up. First stop was Atlanta, where the food is really over priced and not terribly good. Still [http://people.planetpostgresql.org/xzilla/index.php?/archives/29-By-the-way,-the-Philidelphia-airport-sucks.html better than philidelphia] though. Hopped on the plane… a 4 1/2 hour flight and you get crackers, chips, oreos, and rasins. I sat next to [http://www.vardump.com someone] on the plane whose name escapes me right now, which I will blame on the brewers fest. Sad I can remember his blog though eh? Once I got to portland, I met up with a friend of mine and we grabbed some lunch and preceeded to the brwers fest. Last year I went for quality over quantity, that was a smart decision I unfortunatly didnt stick with this year. After walking around and drinking for several hours, we headed on up to the convention center and did our speaker registrations. I scoped out some of the tutorial booklets and the gear, which looks promising. After that we were both bushed, so we went back to our hotels to call it a night. It’s now pretty late in my neck of the woods, but still light out here, Luckily I didn’t have too much email, so I’ll probably go to sleep soon and rest up for tommorrow. I’ll be tackling rails and attempting to track down the fellow pg cohorts. Till then…
