More News From the Front; Gilmore Pushes PostgreSQL on Windows

This time it’s a new article on SearchOpenSource.com talking about [http://searchopensource.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid39_gci1188142,00.html PostgreSQL as a replacement for SQL Server on the Windows Platform], and touches on Jasper Reports as a replcement for Crystal Reports in that scenario. Speaking of I heard an interview with a Microsoft development manager that talked about Microsofts new goal of fitting thier solutions around specific 3rd party implementations. The interview itself referenced PHP on Windows, but there’s no reason you couldn’t look at PostgreSQL on Windows connecting to IIS and Running .Net (I have some experience in this area, and it works pretty well) Anyway, Jason’s article isn’t hard-core technical, but it’s always good to see PostgreSQL chipping aware at the management mindshare. BTW, if you like his writings, please [http://wjgilmore.com/ check out his weblog], or better yet [http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=as2&path=ASIN/1590595475&tag=zillablog-20&camp=1789&creative=9325 buy one of his books] [[image /xzilla/templates/default/img/emoticons/smile.png alt=”:-)” style=”display: inline; vertical-align: bottom;” class=”emoticon” /]]
